The patented Harvey mini curve blocks are hard-compressed, non-dusty, and of uniform shape. They dissolve slowly and evenly, forming a consistent brine solution. Harvey invented salt block products, and consistency, purity, and quality are guaranteed. They are only available from Harvey authorised dealers in branded packaging.
Compliant with British Standard BS EN973, Harvey’s Salt is Grade A PDV (Pure Dried Vacuum) food-quality salt. It is pure with no additives, anti-caking agents, or grit that could damage your softener.
Each pack contains two mini curve salt blocks. A pack weighs 4.3 kg, and each block weighs 2.15kg (4lb 6oz).
Our prices are always competitive. We offer much bigger discounts than Harvey’s Direct. Courier charges are very high for heavy packages. This is a significant cost for companies that deliver curve salt nationwide. We can keep costs down by owning delivery vans and operating locally. Our drivers carefully handle the salt so it arrives intact.
Better service – Hydroworks can put your mini curve salt away and, upon request, perform a free water softener health check while we are there. Let us do the heavy lifting.

We only supply pure Grade A PDV salt — because anything less can devastate your softener.
Some salts now entering the UK market (like sea salt, lake salt, and solar-evaporated varieties) aren’t actually cheaper — but they’re packed with things your softener really can’t handle.
⚠️ Here’s what can happen with the wrong salt:
- Seafoam builds up inside your softener. This is often caused by algae or seaweed spores that thrive in salty environments — and once they’re in, they’re almost impossible to flush out. Your softener begins to breed algae because this type of algae thrives in saltwater environments.
- You’ll also get oil residue from boats and ships — this coats everything internally and causes seals to slip, meaning parts stop fitting properly.
- And then there’s the coarse and fine sand sediment, which can scratch the valve and damage precision components.
In short? It’s not worth the risk.
✅ Using Pure PDV Grade A salt protects your machine.
❌ Using poor-quality salt will invalidate your manufacturer’s guarantee — and could cost you far more than you save.

If you’ve been using granular salt, now’s the time to switch.
Tablet salt is far better for your machine — it reduces wear and tear, helping extend its life.
The only people who sell and recommend granular salt either don’t know how damaging it can be, or don’t care — probably because it increases servicing costs and reduces equipment life, which means more profit for them sooner.
