Our simple hard water test tablets give you an easy way to check whether your taps are running hard or softened water, and to confirm that your water softener is doing its job.
They’ll give you a reading down to around 50ppm of hardness. According to the official scale, anything below 70ppm is classed as soft water. Just be aware that from about 30ppm upwards, you may still notice the odd cosmetic watermark, even though your water is technically soft.

💡 In our professional opinion, a water softener should ideally operate between 0 and 17ppm. This gives you sparkling work surfaces and the best possible chance of easing dry-skin conditions.
